Shucon Hall, LLMSW
I have had the privilege of working with individuals who are navigating complex challenges such as trauma, grief, substance abuse, personality disorders, anxiety, and depression. I understand how deeply these experiences can affect a person's life. Additionally, I have extensive experience in providing support to couples and families, offering compassionate guidance through various types of staged interventions. As a limited licensed clinical therapist with a Master's degree from Spring Arbor University, I have gained valuable insights through my internships at McLaren Hospice and within private practice. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment for healing and growth.
I am well-versed in several therapeutic methodologies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), crisis intervention, psychodynamic therapy, and humanistic therapy. I believe that mental health is vital and does not define who we are; therefore, those dealing with related disorders need to understand their symptoms and triggers. Together, we can develop a treatment plan aimed at reducing or eliminating the barriers that impact one's life.
I also believe that psychoeducation is a crucial part of the therapeutic process, as it helps individuals grasp their diagnoses and prognosis thoroughly. Through a strategic approach and the use of different modalities, my clients and I work to find the right fit or combination of approaches for each person’s unique therapeutic experience, creating a tailored approach.
Furthermore, I am skilled in providing spiritual and Christian counseling for those who wish to incorporate that component into their therapeutic journey.
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
