Susan Shaw, LPC

Do you need a counselor who understands the struggles and needs of school-aged children and adolescents? Do you want a counselor who can help you advocate and empower yourself as a woman or a young adult? If so, you are in the right place.

My name is Susan, and I am a licensed counselor with over 20 years of experience in the education system. I have a BA in Special Education and an MS in Counseling from Wayne State University. I have worked as a Special Education Teacher/Consultant and a Guidance Counselor, helping students with various academic, emotional, social, and life challenges.

Another focus that has become important to me is advocating and empowering women and young adults. Building a relationship with my clients using a Person-Centered Approach and using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is how I feel like I can best meet YOUR needs

I believe that counseling is a collaborative and supportive process, where you and I work together to identify your needs, explore your options, and discover your strengths. My goal is to create a comfortable and safe place for you to empower yourself through therapy.

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched- they must be felt with the heart."
