Shamonica Simon-Mitchell, LLMSW | Therapist in Clarkston, Grand Blanc, & Online Therapy Across Michigan
I believe that seeking therapy is a courageous step toward understanding yourself, healing from past experiences, and creating meaningful change. Many people reach a point where they feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. I'm Shamonica Simon-Mitchell, and I provide a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental space — in Clarkston, Grand Blanc, MI, or online throughout Michigan — where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore your experiences at your own pace.
Education & Credentials
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Saginaw Valley State University and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Michigan. My professional background has allowed me to work with individuals and families navigating complex life experiences, trauma, major transitions, and challenging circumstances.
Who I Work With
I work with children (8+), teens, adults, and families facing:
- Trauma and PTSD
- Family concerns and relationship challenges
- Life transitions
- Identity, caregiving, and personal growth
- Pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns
- Adoption and infertility
- Chronic illness and midlife transitions
- Women's issues, including support for mothers and caregivers
My Approach
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe you are the expert on your own story, and therapy should be a space where you feel comfortable being yourself while working toward the changes you want to make. Together, we can explore patterns, build healthier coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
Whether you're healing from past experiences, navigating a difficult transition, or simply feeling ready for something different, I would be honored to support you on your journey.
"You are your best thing." — Toni Morrison
