Cheryl Bochenek, LMSW-C | Child & Adult Therapist in Grand Blanc, MI & Online Therapy

Trauma-Focused Therapy for Children, Teens & Adults in Grand Blanc and Across Michigan

I’m Cheryl Bochenek, LMSW-C, a licensed therapist providing in-person therapy in Grand Blanc, Michigan, and online therapy throughout Michigan. I work with children, teens, and adults who may be struggling with trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, difficult relationships, family conflict, grief, major life changes, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life.

I’m an engaged, honest, and active therapist because I believe meaningful change often requires more than simply talking about what’s wrong. I’m not a “nod-and-smile” therapist. I work alongside you to understand what you’re experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful changes in your life.

Many of the people I work with feel emotionally exhausted from overthinking, people-pleasing, unhealthy or narcissistic relationships, family stress, trauma, or constantly feeling on edge. Others have spent so much time taking care of everyone else or simply surviving that they have begun to feel disconnected from themselves.

Therapy can provide a supportive space to process painful experiences, strengthen boundaries, rebuild self-trust, develop healthier relationships, and move forward with greater confidence and emotional stability.

Education & Credentials

I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Denver, where I completed the Advanced Social Work Practice, Mental Health and Trauma Pathway.

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker – Clinical (LMSW-C) in Michigan and provide both in-person and telehealth mental health counseling.

My education and clinical experience have provided me with a strong foundation in trauma-informed therapy and mental health treatment for individuals experiencing trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, family conflict, grief, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.

Who I Treat

I provide therapy for children, preteens, teenagers, adults, and older adults experiencing a variety of mental health and life challenges, including:

I see clients in person at Giesken Counseling Services in Grand Blanc, Michigan, and provide online therapy and telehealth counseling throughout Michigan.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe therapy should provide a supportive space where you feel heard and understood while also helping you develop practical tools for meaningful change.

Depending on your needs, I may incorporate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and other person-centered and trauma-focused approaches.

Together, we can work toward understanding patterns, processing difficult experiences, building healthier boundaries, and developing greater confidence and emotional well-being.
