I’ve been training as a clinical mental health therapist for three years at Oakland University with studies in a variety of subjects, including Family Systems, Addictions, Career Development, and Group Therapy. I will be honing my clinical skills at Giesken Counseling by serving our adolescent and adult populations for treatment in anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, life challenges, and self-esteem. While I use a variety of techniques and exercises that differ on each person’s needs, my personal foundation of therapy frequently includes the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing-all with a trauma-informed approach of care. I believe in a nonjudgmental collaborative approach to therapy and am committed to helping others pursue their own mental, emotional, and physical health.
